During a preliminary hearing Wednesday in Magistrate Court, Judge Pat Casados found probable cause that Tyrell Abney of Los Alamos committed the crime of child abuse in the first degree last month against his infant son.

Abney, 18, faces a mandatory 18 years in prison if convicted.

May 2 at 1:41 p.m. / Police arrested Jonathan Etuk, 31, of Mendanales at the Los Alamos Detention Center on an outstanding felony warrant from another jurisdiction.

May 4 at 4:41 p.m. / A 54-year-old Jemez Springs man reported that someone damaged his property on 41st Street. The estimated loss is less than $1,000.

Espanola Man to Serve 10 Years in Prison

FBI News:

A federal judge in Albuquerque has sentenced James Aley White, 31, of Espanola to a 120-month term of imprisonment for his bank robbery conviction.

White will be on supervised release for three years after he completes his prison sentence. He also was ordered to pay full restitution to the bank that was the victim of his crime.

U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales said that on Nov. 15, 2011, White pled guilty to robbing the Bank of America at 8040 Academy Road NE in Albuquerque on Aug. 19, 2011.
