RED RIVER — The Town of Red River Office of Economic Development and Tourism is delighted to announce the arrival of a new and enchanting holiday event “Christmas in the Mountains”.
This festive extravaganza is sure to captivate both locals and visitors alike, as it features an array of delightful activities and attractions for all to enjoy.
The highlight of “Christmas in the Mountains” will be the much-anticipated Lights Parade on Main Street, taking place at 6 p.m., Dec. 9. Decorated floats, adorned with an impressive array of brilliant lights, will enchant spectators as they gracefully proceed down the street. Families, friends, and enthusiastic community members will gather together to revel in the holiday spirit and marvel at the dazzling spectacle before them.
The Town of Red River is committed to supporting local businesses and artisans, thus ensuring a vibrant and prosperous community. With this objective in mind, they are excited to introduce the Red River Christmas Market as part of the “Christmas in the Mountains” event. This unique marketplace will showcase a wide range of handmade and homegrown products exclusively. From beautifully crafted ornaments to delectable homemade treats, attendees will have the opportunity to find exceptional last-minute Christmas gifts while supporting local talents and entrepreneurs.
Dec. 9-10, 2023, are the key dates for this heartwarming event which will take place against the picturesque backdrop of Red River, New Mexico. In addition to the Christmas Market, on both days (Dec. 9-10), there will be a free ornament-decorating activity for the kids. Mayor Linda Calhoun of the Town of Red River shared her excitement about the upcoming event, stating, “We are thrilled to launch ’Christmas in the Mountains’ as a celebration of our community and the holiday season. It will provide an excellent opportunity for families to come together and experience the joy and magic of Christmas right here in Red River.”
