Registration Now Open For Candlelight Tours At Fort Union

Fort Union National Monument News:

WATROUS ― Fort Union National Monument is now accepting reservations for its annual Candlelight Tour program.

To be presented the night of Saturday, Aug. 6, the program will guide visitors through the historic fort by lantern light.

The tour will take visitors to a series of skits, lit by candles and lanterns, that depict different aspects of life at Fort Union.

Tour times are 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. for this free program, but reservations are required.

All tours view the same skits, and each tour lasts about 45 minutes. To make a reservation or for more information, contact Fort Union at 505.425.8025, ext. 0.

Fort Union National Monument is west of Watrous, some 28 miles north of Las Vegas, N.M. Take exit 366 off I-25 and follow NM 161 8 miles west to the Monument.
