Republican Party Of Los Alamos To Host Red, White & Blue Independence Day Picnic At Pinon Park Saturday July 5

Dear Friends:

Please join us for our annual Independence Day Picnic on Saturday, July 5, at Pinon Park in White Rock. Bring a side or dessert to share. RSVP to rpla.vicechair@gmail.com.

Also, be sure to look for our table at the 4th of July Spectacular celebration on Friday, July 4, at Ashley Pond Park.

We heard from Eric Stromberg at our Central Committee meeting on June 19. Concerns about the recent 9% electric rate hike and 7% sewage rate hike were raised. Councilor (David) Reagor was the only NO vote for these ordinance changes. Forcing all citizens to comply with electrification mandates may be unaffordable for households in a low to middle income range. Someone who worked at the LAPS cafeteria told me last year that he could no longer afford to live in Los Alamos. “The County does not want people like me here anymore…” Our local government moves forward with “affordable housing”, but consistently votes to increase the cost of living. We plan to organize a town hall meeting to discuss electrification and other pertinent issues.

A brief response to Richard Skolnik’s op-ed (link). Yesterday night, the Senate voted to proceed with our President’s Big Beautiful Bill, 51 to 49. Republican Sen. Rand Paul voted against, sharing Skolnik’s concerns about the debt ceiling. Sen. Rick Scott declared, “Proud to work with President Trump…to ensure Medicaid goes to those who truly need it and put our nation on a path to balance the budget after years of Democrats’ reckless spending.” The Congressional Budget Office revealed that in the final four months of the Biden-Harris administration, the federal budget deficit totaled $838 billion, $306 billion more than the deficit recorded during the same period last year. No doubt, it will take time and money to fix Biden’s open border disaster.

Many business organizations such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, NFIB, National Restaurant Association, National Small Business Association, Asian American Hotel Owners Association, and National Association of Realtors, fully support this legislation for its pro-growth, pro-worker tax and regulatory reforms.

As a health care provider, I applaud initiatives to address our epidemic of chronic diseases, overemphasis on medications, and the additives/chemicals in our food supply. Kudos to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for getting rid of 8 artificial dyes and declaring war on Big Pharma and Big Food’s power and control. Did you know that the ultra-processed food industry spent a whopping $1.15 billion on lobbying over the past 20 years? No wonder we are sicker than ever.

Dr. Oz introduced groundbreaking health insurance reform, which includes reducing the number of medical procedures, medications, and treatments subject to prior authorization.

Together, let’s work toward a healthier society!

See you soon,
