Los Alamos County Community Services Department is excited to announce that the Rover Park update is completed and the park has reopened.
The Rover Park project was one of many projects that the County was working on during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
Los Alamos County Community Services Department conducted a community survey at the park and on social media in the summer of 2020, asking the community which play structure, out of a total of four possibilities, they liked the best; votes from children also were accepted.
The result from more than 700 votes and what was installed at Rover Park is three vividly colored structures from PlayWell and a swing set.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, June 28 at Rover Park to celebrate its reopening and thank the Los Alamos County staff members and contractors who helped complete this project during a time of uncertainty.
Rover Park is a six-acre park that includes amenities such as play structures for ages 6 months to 12 years of age, picnic pavilion, beach volleyball court, tennis courts, BBQ grills, grassy areas and restrooms.
