ROTARY News:The Rotary Club of Los Alamos will host its October Naturalization Ceremony Saturday, Oct. 19 at Fuller Lodge.
The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. with light refreshments served afterward.
Twenty nominees living in Northern New Mexico, representing a diversity of foreign countries, have been selected by the US Customs and Immigration Services, Albuquerque Field Office, to participate in this ceremony.
Up to 100 guests are expected to join in this meaningful and memorable celebration of citizenship. The ceremony is open to the public; use of historic Fuller Lodge is provided by Los Alamos County.
Rotary is the oldest service organization in the world with over 1.2 million members in over 230 countries. Focus areas include: basic education and literacy; clean water and sanitation; disease prevention (especially the eradication of polio); economic development; maternal and child health; conflict resolution and peace initiatives.
