RPNM Executive Director Kimberly Skaggs
By STEVE PEARCE
RPNM Chairman
As Chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM), I am proud to inform you that RPNM’s Executive Director, Kimberly Skaggs, is being honored this week in Chicago by the Republican National Committee as one of the best Executive Directors in the nation.
In Chicago Kimberly is serving on a panel at the “2022 RNC Summer Meeting” where she is discussing the teamwork that has transformed RPNM into one of the best State Parties in the country.
She is a multitalented and dynamic leader who has helped RPNM grow and prosper throughout the past 16 months as Executive Director.
Skaggs’s tireless work ethic, exceptional talent, impressive vision and her strong belief in RPNM’s mission of “Electing Republicans” have helped advance the Party’s political standing, enhance its reputation and earn respect nationwide.
As Executive Director, Skaggs has worked closely and diligently with local and county leaders and candidates to provide strong grassroots initiatives.
Skaggs’s work as an unpaid Executive Director has been extraordinary.
Just a few of the programs implemented include:
- The RPNM Headquarters has uniquely established itself as the nerve center to serve candidates and Republicans statewide. More than 1,800 volunteers are using the two main tools RNC makes available to RPNM and our candidates–the GOP Data Center and Campaign Sidekick. Republican candidates across New Mexico are already knocking doors and making phone calls to voters. Every County Chair is receiving training in using these invaluable tools in order to get even more volunteers active to save our state
- RPNM, under Skaggs’s leadership, completed the prestigious RNC GROW program, an initiative designed to help build strong infrastructure in all 50 states. In recognition for successfully completing the program, RNC contributed $65,000 to RPNM
- Kim established a “County-by-County” Grow program, helping build strong infrastructure in all 33 counties. Under her leadership, Republicans will be “33 Strong” this November
- RPNM has established a statewide Election Integrity program led by Tina Dziuk
- A statewide Prayer Call each week was instituted by Dziuk
- RPNM has established a statewide GOTV program led by Amy Barela
- Skaggs’s motto, “Think Local, Act Local” is the driving force for Republicans, who have already won local school board and city elections across the state
Most importantly, Skaggs has not done this alone–she has built a small but mighty team.
I want to update you with what the members of this team are accomplishing and the recognition they are receiving.
During the past year, with Mike Curtis and Ashley Soular leading the way, RPNM has been singled out every week as being among the top 5 “Most Engaged” state parties in America. RPNM was #1 for 13 weeks in a row! Our social media reach has exploded, reaching millions on Facebook this past year and enjoying some of the highest state party engagement in the nation. On Facebook RPNM has more than 30,000 followers, almost double what the DPNM has. We have also surpassed the Democrats on Instagram.
During the 2020 cycle, RPNM’s Leticia Munoz-Kaminski was the nation’s leading voter registration manager. She and her team registered 30,000 new Republicans, fully one-tenth of the 300,000 registered nationwide. This year, RPNM has been able to hire Leticia full-time to lead minority engagement efforts in New Mexico.
Likewise, Waylon Chavez, a standout performer in Albuquerque’s South Valley in 2020, has been hired by the RNC to lead Hispanic engagement in the South Valley.
Dziuk, the National Committeewoman, after being selected by RNC to serve on its prestigious Election Integrity Committee, took the lead role in fighting for fair elections in New Mexico. New Mexico, under her leadership, is more active than almost every other state in the fight for free and fair elections.
Jim Townsend, New Mexico’s House Republican Leader, is conducting more candidate trainings in campaigns and messaging than have ever been offered to our State Legislative candidates. As the National Committeeman, his voice is recognized and respected nationally.
New Mexico State Sen. Greg Baca, the Senate Republican Leader, teamed with Rep. Townsend to have a remarkably successful legislative session.
Amy Barela is leading the GOTV (Get-Out-the-Vote) effort and has implemented a comprehensive program similar to the RPNM efforts in 2020 that turned out 85,000 more Republican votes than in 2016. If we turn out the same number of voters this year, Republicans will win the majority in the House and Mark Ronchetti will be our next governor.
Giovanna Eisberg continues to work around the clock to get our state judicial candidates elected. With New Mexico Supreme Court and Court of Appeals seats at stake, Giovanna is working tirelessly with their campaigns and travelling across the state to get out their message and to get out the vote in these key races.
Victor Torres is doing a tremendous job managing the RPNM office, training candidates, volunteers and county officers on how to use the tools that RNC is making available.
Our team also includes Norma Bojorquez, who handles administrative and financial duties, and Rachel Hess, who volunteers daily at RPNM, greeting callers and guests in the most professional way.
Again, we are fortunate to have Skaggs, a proven leader and the CEO of a Dona Ana corporation that has a presence in all 50 states. Her strength, everlasting drive and unwavering dedication are assets that have advanced RPNM in many ways.
With this team and Skaggs’s leadership and guidance, I am confident that RPNM will be an integral part of the many successes Republicans will witness across New Mexico Nov. 8.
Once again, congratulations to Skaggs on the national recognition.
Now let’s go out and win in November.
