The new film Distant Worlds – Alien Life, which premiered last month, will play at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 18 and 19 in the Los Alamos Nature Center planetarium.
There will not be a show Friday, Aug. 18, but the astronomy shows will return the following Friday with an eclipse update and night sky show by Dr. Galen Gisler at 7 p.m. Aug. 25.
Not only does Distant Worlds – Alien Life investigate the conditions required for life, beginning with the planets and moons in our Solar System, but it also ventures out to some of the newly-discovered and potentially habitable exoplanets orbiting other stars. This new film explores the possibilities of encountering intelligent life in the future, what beings on these worlds could look like, where they may be located, and how we might we detect their presence.
