By Pastor RAUL GRANILLOWhen my wife and I first began attending church and getting involved, quite a few of my friends and family started sharing their concern that we might be going too far with this whole “Jesus thing.”
We wanted to know what He really was about and what He really had to offer us, but we never anticipated what God would do through us. The truth is that I had already predetermined the amount of my life I was willing to allow God to have; after all I had a life of my own as well. But as I read the Bible and learned from my pastor, I began to realize that God wanted every part of my life. Read More

LAFSF News:
Our summer faith and science series on Origins continues on June 10 with a presentation and discussion about worldviews and science.
As individuals, we integrate our religious, political, and social beliefs along with the facts that we have learned by living in the world into a worldview that we answer life’s questions with.
Science is also an organization of our observations and knowledge of the world. How do scientists; who come from a complete spectrum of faiths, parts of society, and walks of life; look at nature and the universe through their personal Read More
Pastor Granillo: Fashionable Christians
By Pastor Raul GranilloWhen I was 14 years old, I was certain that if I had a pair of Bugle Boy jeans I would get that call from a mysterious lady asking, “Excuse me; are those Bugle Boy jeans you’re wearing?”
O.K., maybe that’s a stretch, but I had no doubt that if I could get my hands on a pair my status in Jr. High would drastically change. It certainly couldn’t hurt. I needed something to prove that I wasn’t just another dork in the halls. Fashion had the potential to make or break a person in Jr. High. It still has a great power in every aspect of our lives.
There is something about fashion that we Read More

VIDEO Update: Surveillance Camera Captures Cougar At IHM Church
A surveillance camera captured a cougar roaming the grounds of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Monday evening at 3700 Canyon Road. IHM wants community members to be aware of the sighting because people sometimes walk through the grounds or walk their dogs in the church parking lot after dark and before dawn. Students from the adjacent Los Alamos High School also need to be made aware of the sighting as many routinely walk through the church parking lot. Courtesy photo

Pastor Granillo: The Right Attire
By Pastor RAUL GRANILLOThe Right Attire
I remember praying before every band concert that I played in Jr. High. But I didn’t pray for a great performance.
You see, I prayed because my mom would dress me up in dress pants, polished black shoes, a crisp white button up shirt, and a black bow tie; she dressed me for the venue. Now, there was nothing wrong with this, I understood then that appropriate attire was required to play in the band, I was alright with that.
My prayer was that God would convince my mother to take me straight to the concert and then straight back home; I didn’t want anyone to Read More

Pastor Granillo: Holy Tongues
By Pastor RAUL GRANILLOIt is ironic that in our world, while just about anyone can send information from one side of the planet to the other at the speed of light, we still so desperately lack in actual communication.
We may technically speak the same language, but we interpret things so differently that the intended message is often lost in translation. This is a tragedy that can be seen in every aspect of society; from our governments to our own households, even within the Church.
When we hear about “Pentecost” today, the reference is usually to the first Pentecost after the resurrection Read More
