Without the sacrifice of Jesus upon the cross, we cannot be reconciled to the Father. During the season of Lent, we are thankful that Christ has been crucified for us. He died for our transgressions. He has won for us the forgiveness of all of our sins.
Without the glorious resurrection of Jesus from the tomb, we cannot have eternal life. During the season of Easter, we rejoice in the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

SANTA FE – The highways and roads that lead to the village of Chimayó, New Mexico will be crowded next week as thousands of people begin their pilgrimage to el Santuario de Chimayó.
The largest crowds will be seen on Good Friday, March 29, but road congestion and minor delays can be expected any time in this area during Holy Week, the week before Easter Sunday.

The Easter Chicken is set to visit Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church, corner of Trinity and Diamond, at 6:07 p.m., this Palm Sunday, March 24.

Column: ‘Why People Do Not Go to Church?’
“Why People Do Not Go to Church?”A strange subject for a pastor to explore, but one that even this pastor, lived for 10 years. It’s a cultural phenomenon not limited to Los Alamos but spans across the Atlantic, into the very seat of modern Christianity.
According to one report by the North American Mission Board, Los Alamos has the highest percentage of church-attendance of any county in New Mexico – 9.5 percent!
But still, ‘why do people not go to church?’

“Wrapped in God’s Love” is the theme for the county-wide mini-conference, “Women-to-Women Brunch and More.”

A morning fire destroyed the chapel of the New Beginnings Fellowship Church at 112 East Road in Los Alamos last July 4.
The blaze left a burned out shell of a building. One firefighter was injured battling the flames that had traveled up into the building’s rafters.
There were unusual circumstances surrounding the fire and a state fire marshal was called in to investigate the cause.

The celebration will begin with a keynote by visiting scholar Dr. Alan Morinis, “Change Yourself, Change the World: The Jewish Spiritual Tradition of Mussar.”
