The Los Alamos Aquatomics (LAA) hosted the annual Nick Nogar Memorial Invitational, a long course swimming meet, at the Walkup Aquatic Center June 29-30.
This annual meet is dedicated to Nick Nogar, a former Los Alamos High School, University of New Mexico, and US Masters swimmer, who was a devoted and beloved supporter of swimming.

I am a graduating senior from Los Alamos High School. This year, I ended up reserve state champion steer wrestler and qualified for my third consecutive National High School Finals Rodeo.
This year we will be traveling to Rock Springs, Wyo. to compete with more than 1,500 contestants from 41 U.S. states, five Canadian Provinces, and Australia. The National High School Finals is the world’s largest rodeo. In addition, I get the chance to compete for a part of the $200,000 total prize

Louise Janecky, known as Loui by the gymnastics families of Los Alamos, has been elected by acclamation to the USAGymnastics’ newly formed National Xcel Committee.
USAGymnastics, the national governing body for gymnastics, is addressing the nation’s need for a competitive gymnastics program that goes beyond the traditional Junior Olympic (JO) Program. The traditional linear JO program has consisted of compulsory routines in Levels 1-6; and optional, individually choreographed routines in Levels 7-10.
