NMSP News:
ANTON CHICO — Feb. 24, 2025, the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was called to investigate a homicide that occurred at a residence in Anton Chico.
New Mexico State Police agents were called to 1003 Poco Seco Road, in Anton Chico, NM for a house fire where a deceased individual was located inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Agents later obtained surveillance footage showing a vehicle leaving the residence shortly after the house was engulfed in flames. The victim was identified as Paul Jaramillo III. Agents identified the person responsible for the shooting, as Sofia Antrillo, 35. During an interview, Antrillo admitted to committing the murder.
Antrillo was arrested by NMSP Investigations Bureau agents and charged with the following:
- Open Count of First-Degree Murder
- Aggravated Arson
- Armed Robbery
- Tampering with evidence
- Receipt transportation or possession of a firearm or destructive device by a felon
- Trafficking (by possession with intent to distribute) X3
Throughout the investigation, the following amounts of drugs were seized:
- Methamphetamine – 358 grams
- Heroin – 297 grams
- Cocaine – 142 grams
The State Fire Marshal Investigator was contacted and conducted a separate investigation into the cause of the house fire.
