Albuquerque FBI: Man Gets 96 Months For Assaulting Baby

ALBUQUERQUE — An Arizona man was sentenced to 96 months in prison for the assault of a one-month-old baby.
There is no parole in the federal system.
According to court documents, in Oct. 2022, Logan Nelson, 22, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, assaulted a one-month-old baby multiple times. As a result of the final incident on Oct. 15, 2022, the baby suffered an ulna fracture on their left arm and multiple other fractures in the legs and ribs.

SANTA FE — The Bureau of Land Management has announced a series of holiday affordability measures that will help families save money, enjoy public lands, and support wildfire prevention efforts across New Mexico during the 2025-26 winter season.

2025 Hunger Walk & Turkey Trot Raises More Than $9,000

The “2025 Annual Los Alamos CROP Hunger Walk and Turkey Trot” was held on a day with questionable weather, Sunday, Nov. 23. Despite overnight snow, by 2 p.m. the 1.77 to 2.57 mile course had cleared. NMDOH: Rabid Coyote Bites Hiker In Southwest New Mexico

SANTA FE — A coyote that bit a hiker in the Gila National Forest near Silver City has tested positive for rabies.
The hiker did not require hospitalization but is receiving routine treatment to prevent rabies infection. Testing by the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) Scientific Laboratory Division confirmed the diagnosis.
