SANTA FE — Established creative businesses in New Mexico can apply for state grants up to $25,000, aimed at strengthening operations and supporting long-term growth. 

The Business Development & Expansion Grant Program, administered by the New Mexico Economic Development Department’s Creative Industries Division, is open to for-profit creative businesses with at least three years of operational history. New Mexico Medicaid To Hold Public Meetings For Input On Behavioral Health Needs

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Health Care Authority is hosting three public forums to gather input on how the state can better support individuals with serious mental illness, severe emotional disturbance, substance use disorder, or brain injuries.

FBI: Three Individuals Indicted On Federal Charges Related To 2020 Unsolved Murder Of Zachariah Juwaun Shorty

ALBUQUERQUE — Three individuals have been indicted on federal charges related to the murder of Zachariah Juwaun Shorty that occurred in Nenahnezad, N.M., on July 21, 2020.

Shorty was found deceased on July 25, 2020, on a dirt pathway in a field in Nenahnezad on the Navajo Nation. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The case remained unsolved for years before Special Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation made a recent breakthrough.

Water Release From Abiquiu Reservoir To Begin Nov. 30

USACE News:

ABIQUIU LAKE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Albuquerque District (USACE) announced today that it has scheduled a water release from Abiquiu Reservoir to begin Nov. 30 and end Dec. 17, 2025.

The water will be delivered to Elephant Butte Reservoir by the end of December 2025.

Below is a tentative flow release in cubic feet per second (cfs):

  • Nov. 30 – 500 cfs (start date)
  • Dec. 1 – 800 cfs
  • Dec. 2 – 1,000 cfs
  • Dec. 3 – 1,200 cfs
  • Dec. 4 to Dec. 8 – 1,400 cfs
  • Dec. 9 – 1,200 cfs
  • Dec. 10 – 1,000 cfs

Construction Project To Rebuild I-40 East Of Gallup To Go Into Partial Suspension Beginning Dec. 1

Construction on the project to rebuild I-40 east of Gallup will go into partial suspension beginning Monday, Dec. 1, 2025. The project stretches from Milepost 41.921 to Milepost 44.867 on I-40 east of Gallup. 

Traffic Impacts

During partial suspension, crews will work on activities that are not part of the critical path.

The following traffic impacts will remain in place:

  • Westbound I-40 will have two lanes of traffic open westbound; and
  • Eastbound I-40 will have two lanes of traffic open eastbound.
