New Mexico State Fair Adds Park & Ride Service For 2025

The New Mexico State Fair has added park and ride services for the 2025 State Fair event to help ease traffic and congestion during prime hours at the Fair.
Park and ride buses will pick up fairgoers at Coronado Center on Saturdays and Sundays only (Sept. 6-7 and Sept. 13-14).

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Environment Department this week issued an emergency rule banning the production of synthetic cannabinoids — man-made substances like Delta-8 THC — found in some hemp products sold in stores across the state.

FBI: Woman Indicted For Child Abuse Resulting In Death

ALBUQUERQUE — A Zuni woman has been indicted on federal charges for her alleged role in the death of a minor child.
According to court documents, on January 26, 2025, Miranda Cachini, 26, an enrolled member of the Zuni Pueblo, allowed a minor child to be placed in a dangerous situation which resulted in the child’s death.
Cachini is charged with abuse of a child resulting in death and will remain in third-party custody pending trial, which has not yet been scheduled. If convicted, Cachini faces up to 18 years in prison.

Streamflows remain low in many parts of New Mexico. Unfortunately, the early predictions for the upcoming winter are for a weak La Nina pattern. La Nina usually means lower precipitation and warmer than average temperatures.
One river that seems to be holding up well is the Pecos River. The Eastern slopes of the Sangre de Cristo mountains have been getting more monsoon rain than North-Central and Northwestern New Mexico.
