Los Alamos Elementary and Middle School PARCC Score Reports

LAPS News:

The Los Alamos Public Schools have received individual PARCC Score reports for students in grades 3-8.

The detailed student reports will help teachers and families further understand what students know and are able to demonstrate. Each student will receive one score report for English Language Arts (ELA) and one for mathematics.

Score reports include several sections. The first section is the Overview, which provides a student’s overall score and performance level.

Los Alamos High School Drill, Academic, and Physical Fitness teams competed Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Area 9 Drill Meet at West Mesa High School in Albuquerque.

Overall, all teams did an outstanding job. Hard work and practice really paid off in the end. Armed Basic Drill commanded by Michael Purdy tied for 1st place.

Ceres’ Bright Spots Likely Brine Deposits

This image, made using images taken by NASA’s Dawn spacecraft, shows Occator crater on Ceres, home to a collection of intriguing bright spots. The bright spots are much brighter than the rest of Ceres’ surface, and tend to appear overexposed in most images. Lane Closures To Begin In Pojoaque On NM 502

NMDOT News:

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin paving operations on N.M. 502 (mile maker 9) near the Cities of Gold Casino in Pojoaque. 

Starting Thursday, Dec. 10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., N.M. 502 will have intermittent lane closures on the southbound and northbound lanes.  Motorists can expect minor delays during this time.

The paving operation work is scheduled to be completed Dec. 10, 2015; weather permitting. 

Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone, observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limit.  Read More
