Udall Announces New Chief Of Staff

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Sen. Tom Udall announced that he has hired Bianca Ortiz Wertheim to serve as his new chief of staff starting Sept. 8.

A native of Nambé, north of Santa Fe, Ortiz Wertheim has worked for Udall for six years as the director of his state offices, supervising his constituent service work and team of local representatives. She will move to Washington with her husband, attorney and businessman John Wertheim.

Attorney General Balderas Searching For Relatives Of Former Attorneys General

The Office of Attorney General Hector Balderas is actively searching for relatives of past Attorneys General to be included in the unveiling of a photo gallery honoring AGs serving from 1846 to present.
 
The gallery housed in the Santa Fe OAG building is open to the public for tours during normal business hours.

DEA Drug Take-Back Initiative Returns To Los Alamos

The Los Alamos Police Department would like to announce that it will once again host three collection sites 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 as a part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s drug take-back day initiative.

SANTA FE ― The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is pleased to sponsor a statewide child safety seat clinic from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19.

Mullen Heller Architecture were notified that the Los Alamos Nature Center has been selected as the ‘Best Project under $10 Million’ by ENR, a regional design and construction publication.

Private Well Water Precautions For San Juan County & Other Affected New Mexico Residents

SANTA FE  Private domestic water well owners in San Juan County and other parts of New Mexico inundated by floodwater caused by recent heavy rain are being advised to take precautions.
 
Flood water can be tainted by sewage leaked by flooded septic systems, or other contaminants, and the floodwater can contaminate water wells.
