Woman Attempts To Rob Bank Of America

FBI News:

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are looking for a woman who attempted to rob a Bank of America branch Friday, Aug. 14.

The suspect is described as a white female, about 45-55 years old, approximately 5’1” to 5’5” tall, and weighing about 175 to 185 pounds.

She wore a blue short-sleeved shirt with a white logo on the chest and sunglasses hanging from the collar, a tan fishing hat, jeans, white shoes and black gloves. She carried a bag with a strap over her shoulder.

NMED Proposes Repeal Of 20.2.36 NMAC Sulfur Limits

After review and evaluation, the New Mexico Environment Department―Air Quality Bureau proposes to repeal 20.2.36 NMAC, Petroleum Refinery―Sulfur (Part 36).

A public hearing is scheduled for Dec. 18, in Santa Fe. Part 36 was adopted in 1974 and establishes sulfur limits (sulfur recovery standards) and other requirements for existing and new petroleum refineries.

The rule was identified in the November 2012 Improving Environmental Permitting Report as a rule for potential revision or repeal.

WIPP’s new hybrid bolting machine was recently transported to the WIPP underground, where it was reassembled by site personnel.

The bolter is designed to run on either diesel or electricity. The unit was inspected and acceptance tested at the manufacturer’s site before it was disassembled and transported to the WIPP site. Las Cruces Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Conspiracy And Firearms Charges

ALBUQUERQUE — Conrad Vasquez Salazar, 43, of Las Cruces has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and firearms charges.

Under the terms of his plea agreement, Salazar will be sentenced to 20 years in federal prison followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court.

The guilty plea was announced by U.S. Attorney Damon P. Martinez, Special Agent in Charge Carol K.O. Lee of the Albuquerque Division of the FBI, and Las Cruces Police Chief Jaime Montoya.

New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana Receive $2.4 Million In FEMA Preparedness Grants

DENTON, Texas―Fire departments in Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico have been awarded more than $2.4 million in preparedness grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The grant in New Mexico totals $169,000 and pays for tuition and educational assistance plus several other programs for the Mayhill Volunteer Fire Department.

In Arkansas, the grants total $413,524 and cover firefighting equipment for the Lake Village Fire Department and the Lone Rock Volunteer Fire Department in Norfork.
