Luján Wants Vote To Reauthorize Export-Import Bank

- Bank Supports 265 Jobs in New Mexico
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico’s Third District called on House Republican leaders this morning to allow a vote in the House of Representatives to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Absent legislative action, the bank’s charter will expire at the end of the month, and it will no longer be able to provide loans to U.S. businesses. The Export-Import Bank is an independent, self-sustaining agency with an 80-year record of supporting U.S. jobs by financing the export of American goods and services. Read More

Scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory have developed a computer model that clarifies the complex processes driving ocean mixing in the vast eddies that swirl across hundreds of miles of open ocean.

Amateur Radio Operators ‘Field Day’ June 27-28
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT News:
This weekend beginning at noon Saturday and running to noon Sunday, Amateur Radio Operators worldwide will be performing “Field Day”. This is equivalent to a public safety exercise.
The purpose of this field day is to test equipment and operational status of the Amateur Radio operators. This is normally conducted on HF frequencies without the use of repeaters. An operator may choose: Voice operations, Digital Data operations or morse code operations. The goal is multi fold: contact as many other operators in the 24 hour period and see what distance you can achieve. Read More

ALBUQUERQUE — U.S. Sen. Tom Udall and U.S Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham will speak at an event hosted by SMSgt Jessey Baca and his wife, Maria, to recognize the establishment of the federal burn pit registry.
The event is 3 p.m., Tuesday at Real Time Solutions, 2nd Floor, 301 Central Ave NW in Albuquerque.

AG’s Office Holding Open Meetings Act/Inspection Of Public Records Act Training In Los Alamos July 15

Attorneys from the Office of the Attorney General are traveling throughout New Mexico for the remainder of the year, offering free training sessions on Sunshine Laws designed to help government agencies and municipalities better understand the requirements of the state’s Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) and its Open Meetings Act (OMA).
