Learn About Wetland Restoration At PEEC Thursday

Southern New Mexico has many desert grasslands, which are home to a number of bird and plant species. This important habitat, however, is threatened by historic overgrazing and climate change.

In a free presentation at PEEC at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 19, Karla Sartor will discuss this topic, including techniques to restore wetland and grassland habitats in southern New Mexico, which can also be applied to the Pajarito Plateau.

Traffic Alert: US 84/285 Sweeping Operations Tuesday

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin sweeping operations Tuesday on US 84/285 from mile marker 165 (Alamo Drive) to mile marker 181 (Jct. of US 84/285 & NM 503).

The sweeping operation kicks off NMDOT maintenance crews schedules for cleaning activities and preparation for the annual El Santuario de Chimayo Walk.
