New Mexico Consortium Reports 20 New Jobs Created at Biological Research Facility

- New research facility at Entrada Park to supply jobs, research opportunities and economic advantage to Los Alamos County
The New Mexico Consortium (NMC) reported that it has created 20 new jobs since it received a major economic development grant from Los Alamos County in March of 2012.
The NMC, Los Alamos County, and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) jointly recruited Dr. Richard Sayre and his team to Los Alamos in 2011. Los Alamos County contributed $2.6 million to the effort through the New Mexico Local Economic Development Act (LEDA).

NMDOT Resuming Work on NM 599 Interchange
NMDOT news:
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation resumes work April 1 on the newly built NM 599 Interchange in Santa Fe.
The interchange facilitates public access to South Meadows Road, West Alameda Street, and County Road 62 and gives the public a safer way to cross NM 599 to reach neighborhoods and facilities on the west side of the city.
There will be flagging operations at the roundabouts and at the bridge. The right-hand lanes of NM 599 northbound and southbound will be closed during the first phase of work.

Santa Fe Watershed Prescribed Burn Postponed Until Fall
SFNF News:SANTA FE — The Santa Fe National Forest has announced there are no plans to resume treatments in the Santa Fe Watershed project area until this fall when conditions are more favorable.
SFNF would like to thank the public for its continued support for the prescribed fire program.
The Espanola Ranger District was able to safely complete 220 acres this fiscal year on the Santa Fe Watershed prescribed burn project.
The total project is approximately 7,200 acres of which about 5,500 acres have been treated with prescribed fire.

Coker will take the audience on a journey where he presents and annotates his Bandelier National Monument photo album, entertaining questions along the way.
