TAOS — The Rio Grande Gorge Rest Area will be closed on May 19 and May 20 to begin parking lot preservation work.

Shiprock Man Sentenced For Firing At Occupants Of Vehicle

ALBUQUERQUE — A Shiprock man was sentenced to seven years in prison for pointing a handgun at occupants of a vehicle and opening fire as they attempted to flee.
There is no parole in the federal system.
According to court documents, on Aug. 1, 2025, Bryson Chee, 43, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, arrived at a residence in Shiprock as a passenger in a vehicle with two others.
