RUIDOSO — Today, the Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) held its 2026 Pre-Primary Convention in beautiful Ruidoso with approximately 700 attendees, including delegates, guests, and volunteers.
Nearly 450 delegates selected from their counties across the state voted by paper ballot for the following races:

State Accepting Applications To Support New Mexico Business Incubator Certification

SANTA FE — New Mexico business incubators have until April 2 to apply for grants of up to $150,000 through the New Mexico Incubator Certification Support (ICS) Grant program.
Administered by the Economic Development Department’s (EDD) Technology and Innovation Office, the competitive grant helps non-certified incubators meet the requirements of the New Mexico Certified Business Incubator program.

FBI: Mescalero Man Gets 11 Years For Abusing Minor

ALBUQUERQUE — A Mescalero man was sentenced to 11 years in prison for sexual abuse of a minor.
There is no parole in the federal system.
According to court records, Feb. 15, 2025, John Albert Carrillo, Jr., 36, a member of the Mescalero Apache Tribe, used force to commit a sexual act with a minor victim.
Carrillo pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor. Upon his release from prison, Carrillo will be subject to 10 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
