Summer Blockbusters: Unitarian Church This Weekend

UCLA News:

The Unitarian Church of Los Alamos continues its annual “Summer Blockbusters” series this weekend with a viewing of the film Kubo & the Two Strings at 6:30 p.m., Saturday July 29, followed by a sermon on the movie’s themes at 10:45 a.m., Sunday, July 30.

This beautifully animated film tells the story of Kubo, who lives a quiet, normal life in a small shoreside village entertaining the villagers with his music and stories until a spirit from the past turns his life upside down by re-igniting an age-old vendetta. Gods and monsters chase Kubo who, in order to survive, must locate a magical suit of armor once worn by his late father, a legendary Samurai warrior. Kubo & the Two Strings is rated PG for thematic elements, scary images, action and peril. We believe it is appropriate for ages 8 and up. The movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the movie is free with popcorn provided.

If you’d like to join us for dinner at 5:30 p.m., before the movie, please contact Rev. John at revjohn@uulosalamos.org, or visit facebook.com/uulosalamos for details.
