Valles Caldera Art Exhibits in April:

Jemez Fine Art Gallery: April 18-24, 2025

Celebrate National Park Week by stopping in to view this week-long art exhibit inspired by Valles Caldera National Preserve. Featuring original artwork by local, regional, international and National Park Service artists in residence, Caldera Reverie: Artistic Visions from a Volcanic Landscape is a visual love letter to a beloved Jemez Mountains landscape. The exhibit will be on display at Jemez Fine Art Gallery in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. Check their business hours online before planning your visit.

Ranger Station at the Valles Caldera: 11-4 p.m. Saturday, April 26

Celebrate National Park Week at Valles Caldera National Preserve on Saturday, April 26! Participate in a silent disco overlooking Valle Grande, a photography program, watercolor painting, writing prose, viewing the Caldera Reverie art exhibit, or watching a demonstration by a local artist. These activities and more will occur throughout the day at the Ranger Station, located in the park’s Cabin District.

During this event, Valles Caldera National Preserve will make National Park Service history by hosting a silent disco featuring Puebloan, Tribal, and Native Hawaiian artists along with other New Mexico DJs. Artists performing include Burn the Disco, Mr. Biggs, Swift Money, Midnight Wolf, Pocket Elephant, Fission Project, TrillBot, and West of Time (Cowboy Curtis & Betty Benedeadly).

Having a silent disco instead of a traditional speaker setup minimizes sound pollution—which protects wildlife and the serene natural soundscapes of the park—and provides a more accessible avenue for individuals with hearing impairments to enjoy the music. Fifty headsets have been graciously donated by Phoenix-based event planners Satyr Entertainment to allow for the silent disco to take place.
