Veterans And Families Resource Day Nov. 3

SANTA FE – Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) and the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services will host Veterans and Families Resource Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3 in the Jemez Rooms on the SFCC campus at 6401 Richards Ave.

Representatives from federal, state and local veterans’ service organizations will be on hand to answer questions and provide information to veterans, active-duty personnel and their families about the types of assistance, resources and programs are available to them in northern New Mexico.

The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with the presentation of flags by the Color Guard of Northern New Mexico Vietnam Veterans of America. There will be a short opening ceremony with brief remarks by New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services Secretary Timothy Hale; SFCC President Randy Grissom, SFCC Veterans Resource Center Specialist Greg Scargall and SFCC Governing Board Member Chris Abeyta.

After the opening ceremony, a number of organizations will be available for providing information and resources such as the Veterans’ Business Outreach Center, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Listening Horse Therapeutic Riding, New Mexico Department of Veteran Services, SFCC Veterans Resource Center, New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services, New Mexico Department of Workforce Connections, among others.
