Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA) is hosting their semiannual collection items for Veterans and their furry friends.

Vets with Pets is done twice a year to remind our Veterans how their service to county is appreciated year-round.

The donation of handmade cards, pictures colored by children or doodles on colored paper along with pet treats and toys will take place over the next 3 weeks. Those clubs, organizations or businesses willing to collect items can call for a free pick up in Los Alamos or White Rock.

Pet Pangaea will collect donations and sell gift cards that C’YA will use to fill in the needs as we head to our goal. Last year more than 40 individual Veterans, three Veteran organizations along with the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque received care packages from the community. As always, any leftover treats, toys and food is shared with the Los Alamos and the Santa Fe Animal Shelters.
