VFW News:

The Veterans of Foreign Wars will be showing the much-anticipated boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 with under-card matches.

What makes this fight interesting is that McGregor, a mixed martial arts champion is making the move from the Octagon to the ring to compete in a 12-round boxing match against Mayweather, one of the greatest boxers of this era.

Mayweather plans to retire after this match and if he wins, he will be leaving the sport of boxing with an unblemished record of 50-0. If McGregor wins, then it will be consider one of the biggest upsets in sports history.

There is a $10 entrance fee at the door. VFW Members’ guests are welcome. There also will be a membership drive on the night of the event for those interested in joining the VFW regular or Auxiliary membership. Inquire about being eligible to join this great organization (yearly and lifetime memberships are available).

The VFW Post 8874 is at 1793 Deacon St. in Los Alamos … It should be a great night of boxing!
