COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County Community Economic Development Department staff will host a public meeting 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27 at the White Rock Senior Center to discuss the White Rock Complex Remodel Project.
In May 2012, Council approved a reduced project scope and the associated funding of $8.4 million to be included in the FY13 budget. The project returned to Council with a redefined scope including a smaller 10,500-square-foot new Library at Piñon Park, remodeling the existing Youth Activity Center and remodeling the existing Municipal Complex.
The Municipal Complex remodel includes expanding the Senior Center into the current library space and expanding the community activity areas into the Town Hall area, as well as some other updates for the Activity Center located in the Complex.
Monday’s meeting will provide an update to the community on the project, which is moving through the design process to construction in concert with the Library/Youth Activity Center portion of the project.
