MAINSTREET News:
19 local business owners and entrepreneurs gathered for their monthly Women in Business meeting Feb. 24.
Facilitated by Alison Watkins, Event Manager for Los Alamos MainStreet & Creative District (LAMSCD), the event featured guest speaker Beth LaRue, Marketing Manager at UNM-LA, who cultivated a lively discussion and presentation on “Marketing for Small Businesses.”
Del Norte Credit Union sponsors this networking group as a way to bring needed content and resources to this vital segment of the Los Alamos business community.
In 2025, Women in Business will host guest speakers on a variety of topics. In March, Laural Hardin, owner of Petree Garden Center, will speak about unexpected aspects of owning a business. At the April meeting, attendees will hear Wendy Stein speak about WESST (Women‘s Economic Self-Sufficiency Team). This unique program through the Small Business Administration (SBA), provides one-on-one consulting and training designed to help women become self-sufficient through self-employment.
The Women In Business Networking Group meets from 5:30-7 p.m., on the last Monday of each month (except in July and December) at projectY cowork located at 150 Central Park Square.
