LAJC News:

Young adults ages 20s and 30s are invited to a Shabbat dinner at a private home in White Rock Friday  July 14.

Los Alamos Jewish Center members Ally and Marc Ruch have been hosting these dinners at their home approximately once a month. Shabbat – the Jewish sabbath – begins each Friday at sundown, and lasts through Saturday evening at sundown.

Dinner with the Ruch’s is called for 7 p.m., after the weekly Friday evening Shabbat service at the Jewish Center. No charge for the 20s/30s Shabbat dinner, but please RSVP by July 12 to losalamosjewishcenter@gmail.

A sabbath meal (vegetarian options available) with the traditional blessings over challah (braided sabbath bread) and wine will be followed by song and board games.

For the summer, Friday evening services at the Jewish Center begin with pre-service appetizers and socializing time, 5-5:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., Shabbat is welcomed with songs around the table; the formal Shabbat service begins in the sanctuary at 5:45 p.m. and concludes at 6:30 p.m.

All are welcome to weekly Shabbat services. The Jewish Center is at 2400 Canyon Road, down the street from the PEEC Nature Center.
