Los Alamos Little Theatre Hosts Sound Workshop Saturday
LALT News:
Los Alamos Little Theatre (LALT) is hosting a live sound workshop open to anyone who wants to learn how to run sound (microphones/mixers/speakers) for any event, with a focus on live theater performance.
The class is 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the PAC, 1670 Nectar St.
The workshop is free and donations to LALT are welcome.
In the first half of the workshop, participants will learn the basics of how to use a mixing console, when and how to use different types of microphones, and how to set up speakers, monitors and recording/streaming devices.

Here is a look at the golden landscapes blanketing Purgatory Resort from this past weekend. A light dusting of snow has already graced the peaks, and mountain ops is gearing up to start snowmaking operations for the 2024-25 ski season. Autumn now is arriving. The most obvious sign is with leaves. The leaves of trees and bushes are turning yellow or red. Another sign is with birds. Hummingbirds drink flower nectar not only to meet their needs from day to day, but also to store nutrients for their migration flight south. As an example hummingbirds drank a pint of sugar water in a feeder on a daily basis at the start of September.
