Daily Postcard: A beautiful night blooming cereus nearly in full bloom graces the garden of Master Gardener Sandy Geoffrion. This succulent is a native of the Sonoran desert. A single bloom begins to open in the early hours of darkness and remains open until shortly after dawn at which time it folds back up and falls. This photo was taken at about 10 p.m. Sunday. The new combined exhibit on its way to Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library is loaded with personality and colorful messages. Personality Plus and Telephone Tag are the two latest offerings from the regional group Studio Art Quilt Associates, known as SAQA.
Artists from all over New Mexico and beyond are represented by the Albuquerque-based association. Their exhibit runs Sept. 26 through Nov. 7.
