On Friday, July 14, there will be a noon concert at the United Church of Los Alamos, 2525 Canyon Road, featuring a piece written by Los Alamos composer Frances Meier.

The piece is for French horn and piano and entitled “New Mexico Mesas”. It will be performed by Daniel Nebel, horn, who commissioned it for his senior doctoral recital; and Meier on piano. It has been published by Corniworld Publications.

SANTA FE — New Mexico History Museum (NMHM) has become a new resource about the life and work of internationally acclaimed artist and printer Gustave Baumann for art collectors and students of Southwestern history. Born in Germany, Baumann eventually settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1918, after periods in Chicago and Indiana. He died in 1971.

Tthe annual Youth Show will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 15-16,in the Palace of the Governors Courtyard. Admission to NMHM will be free both days! 

The Youth Show, an extension of the Native American Artisans Portal Program, is held twice a year. The young Native artists featured in the Youth Show range from five to seventeen years old, representing a burgeoning wave of creativity in a variety of mediums.
