The Los Alamos Federation of School Employees (LAFSE) begins its 29th year of serving Los Alamos Public Schools’ (LAPS) employees by sponsoring a free Los Alamos Summer Concert Friday, Aug. 5 at Ashley Pond Park.

Los Alamos favorites Katy P and the Business will open followed by headliner The Wildflowers, the #1 touring Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute band in the United States.

This free concert follows most LAPS employees’ return to work Aug. 3 and precedes the return of LAPS students Aug. 10.

SANTA FE — The New Mexico History Museum (NMHM) has announced the opening of Honoring Tradition and Innovation, an exhibition commemorating 100 years of Santa Fe’s Indian Market, 1922-2022.

Registration Now Open For Candlelight Tours At Fort Union

WATROUS ― Fort Union National Monument is now accepting reservations for its annual Candlelight Tour program.

To be presented the night of Saturday, Aug. 6, the program will guide visitors through the historic fort by lantern light.

The tour will take visitors to a series of skits, lit by candles and lanterns, that depict different aspects of life at Fort Union.

Tour times are 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. for this free program, but reservations are required.
