The Los Alamos Historical Society (LAHS) will host Yuletide Tales with Mike Katko from 7-8 p.m., tonight, Dec. 10 at the Hans Bethe House. Local author, poet, and storyteller, Katko returns to share an evening of holiday-themed reflections.

The program will feature Christmas and winter stories from Los Alamos past, poetry by Peggy Pond Church, and a tribute to veterans in honor of National Wreaths Across America Day (held this year on Dec. 13, 2025).

Ghost Ranch: New Conservation Partnership To Protect Landscapes & Vistas Made Famous By Georgia O’Keeffe

ABIQUIU — Tuesday, the National Ghost Ranch Foundation and the Presbyterian Church Foundation jointly announced plans to preserve the landscapes and vistas made famous by artist Georgia O’Keeffe through a new partnership with the State of New Mexico and the New Mexico Land Conservancy.

SALA Event Center To Host Screening Of ‘Mississippi Speed Record: An Epic Adventure’ Thursday Dec. 11

An ultra-endurance team called Mississippi Speed Record (MSR) made history and entered the Guinness World Record by traversing the entire length of the Mississippi River. Their achievement was documented in the film, “Mississippi Speed Record: An Epic Adventure”, which will be screened at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 at SALA Event Center.

In addition to the screening, MSR canoeist Judson Steinback will be at SALA to introduce the movie, answer questions and sign autographs. Admission is $10. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at sala.losalamos.com.
