The Thirteenth Child composed by Poul Ruders working with librettists Becky and David Starobin is a short two act opera. The trail of its creation is from Denmark to Tanglewood to Broadway to Santa Fe.

The best place to begin to reveal the essence of this opera is to read “The Twelve Brothers” fairy tale by the Grimms brothers. That is available in the program book.

TAOS Taos Fall Arts Festival “Art & Words: Critical Thinking and Writing About Art,” a two-day, multi-venue symposium set for Sept. 27- 28.
 
The program is a collaboration of Taos Fall Arts Festival, The Magazine, The Harwood Museum of Art and SOMOS.

There is just eight days until the 39th annual Fuller Lodge Art Center Summer Arts & Crafts Fair and today’s featured artist is Laura Salamy, a local Rug Hooking artist.
 
Described as a little less than traditional, Salamy creatively designs rugs, table mats, runners and wall hangings, and said that she prefers utilizing recycled materials.
 
The community is invited to attend the fair, purchase a unique rug and speak with Salamy 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 on the lawn at Fuller Lodge.

The annual Arts & Crafts Fair at Fuller Lodge is just 10 days away.

Fuller Lodge Art Center (FLAC) welcomes one of the featured artists, Alexis Palmaffy from Santa Fe to the event. Palmaffy creates original etchings that are hand printed with care, hand drawings, fine are prints and digital prints of oil paintings.

Hagelberg grew up in rural Minnesota, first tie dyeing in 4H, using Rit dyes. In 1985 she took a tie dyeing class in Minneapolis using Fiber Reactive Dyes, which she still uses today.
