The newest artwork in the Los Alamos County’s art collection, “Kites of Many Colors” in the White Rock Branch Library, will be dedicated at a ceremony at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 28.
Artists Eric Markow and Thom Norris will be present for the ceremony, hosted by the Arts in Public Places Board.

The ‘Pink’ moon spotted early this morning from White Rock appears larger than average because it is three days past perigee, the point in its orbit when it is nearest to earth, according to Space.com. Although the name suggests the moon will appear a certain color, that is not true. Instead the moon is named pink after the color of wild ground phlox, one of the early spring flowers.
