TAOS, NM The Taos County Chamber of Commerce along with Taos Lilac Festival, Inc. will host the Taos Lilac Festival this year from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 18-20 at Kit Carson Park.

Historic Santa Fe Foundation (HSFF) will host Portraits of Chimayosos by Don Usner, from the Chimayó Museum Collection May 17 through June 30.
 
The exhibition opens 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 18 in the sala of El Zaguán at 545 Canyon Road in Sante Fe, and continues through June 30.
 
The exhibition at Historic Santa Fe Foundation’s El Zaguàn features Usner’s black-and-white portraits of many of the residents of the historic village of Chimayó. The prints are part of a collection that is permanently housed at the Chimayó Museum.

Teen Center Receives LEED Certification … Plaque Dedication Thursday May 10

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County officials have announced that the local Teen Center in downtown Los Alamos has received a “LEED Certified” designation for the remodeling of the community building space that took place in 2016.

LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and varying status levels can be achieved by applying for credits awarded for sustainable design through a points system designed by the US Green Building Council.
