Local artist Julie Smith will have her work displayed at Rose Chocolatier for approximately four weeks beginning Friday. The community is invited to the opening reception 5-7 p.m., Friday at Rose Chocolatier to see new work Smith has for sale, order a custom Guardian Angel painting or pet portrait of a favorite furry animal, and buy some chocolate for Mother’s Day. The annual Fair and Rodeo Queen’s Court competition is Sunday, May 20.
 
The Queen’s Competition is a long-standing Los Alamos County tradition, which selects young ladies with an equestrian background and people skills to represent Los Alamos County all summer in promoting the Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo locally and regionally.
