State Film Office Announces 2018 New Mexico Filmmakers Showcase Call For Entries

SANTA FE  The New Mexico Film Office (NMFO) has announced a call for entries for the 2018 NM Filmmakers Showcase.
 
The yearly juried competition is open to all New Mexico filmmakers and there is no fee to submit your film. The winners of the showcase will be announced at an Awards Ceremony May 19, 2018 at the National Hispanic Cultural Arts Center. The winning films will be screened at the 2018 NM Film & Media Industry Conference in the fall.

This weekend, the Los Alamos Nature Center has two special planetarium programs: a special solstice show Friday and a full-dome film Saturday. The Friday, Dec. 22, show Bones, Tombs, and Solstice will start at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, the exciting full-dome film Exploding Universe is screening at 2 p.m. These planetarium programs are made possible thanks to the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC).

SANTA CLARA, Calif. Avaya is preparing its industry-leading Avaya Customer Engagement technology to help set a new record at the 62nd annual NORAD Tracks Santa, scheduled to start Dec. 24 and end Christmas Day, Dec. 25.
 
During the 23-hour period in 2016, more than 1,400 hotline volunteers answered a record 154,192 calls (1.8 calls per second) to the NORAD Tracks Santa 1-877 HI-NORAD hotline.
