Los Alamos Native Performs Classical Guitar June 29

Classical guitar music is something that can be heard around the world and at 7 p.m. Thursday, the music will be played locally. Los Alamos native Mohit Dubey will present a free performance in Mesa Public Library’s upstairs rotunda.

 

Dubey grew up in Los Alamos but studies at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio where he is pursuing both a guitar and a physics degree. He is working as a summer intern at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Read More

Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden has announced the appointment of Tracy K. Smith as the Library’s 22nd Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry for 2017-2018.
 
Smith will take up her duties in the fall, opening the Library’s annual literary season in September with a reading of her work at the Coolidge Auditorium. Smith, a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and a professor at Princeton University, succeeds Juan Felipe Herrera as Poet Laureate.
