Former Los Alamos resident Susan Vorenberg Musgrave of Los Alamos was a finalist for the prestigious 2016 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards for her business book, Business is About Goofy People. 

Published by ArtAge Publication, it explores the humorous characters and challenging situations throughout the business environment. A graduate of University of New Mexico, Anderson School of Management with an MBA, Musgrave is a well known business executive in the state of New Mexico and nationwide working in government contracting and business development. “Fences” is a late 2016 film just nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture. Directed by Denzel Washington, the film is based almost entirely on the Pulitzer Prize winning play of the same name written by August Wilson. It tells about a period of about ten years in the life of a1950s, African-American, urban family, living in a row house.
 
Denzel Washington plays Troy Maxson, a fifty-something sanitation worker living with his wife and teenage son. Stephen Henderson plays Troy’s best friend and co-worker, Jim Bono, Troy’s conscience and support system.

Parking is expected to be a major issue when violin super-star Joshua Bell performs at 8 p.m.  Feb. 3 in the Smith Auditorium.  The concert is completely sold out so over 940 people will need to park and get into the hall during chilly weather.

Because the parking lot adjacent to the Smith Auditorium is not large enough to handle a sold-out house, the Los Alamos Concert Association strongly urges patrons to carpool.
