Cinema Cindy Reviews ‘Inferno’
By CYNTHIA BIDDLECOMB“Inferno” is the latest movie based on a novel by Dan Brown. As with the films made from Brown’s other popular novels, “The DaVinci Code” and “Angels and Demons”, this film is fast paced. In it, we travel from Florence, Italy, to Venice and on to Istanbul, Turkey. One would be hard put to feel bored watching this movie.

Daily Postcard: Sun Dog Briefly Appears In Los Alamos
Daily Postcard: Sun Dog makes a brief appearance in Los Alamos on the afternoon of Oct. 27. Sun dogs, mock suns or phantom suns, are an atmospheric phenomenon that consists of a pair of bright spots on either horizontal side on the Sun, often co-occurring with a luminous ring known as a 22° halo. Sun dogs are a member of a large family of halos, created by light interacting with ice crystals in the atmosphere. Sun dogs typically appear as two subtly colored patches of light to the left and right of the Sun, approximately 22° distant and at the same elevation above the horizon as the Sun. They can be seen Read More

Letter To The Editor: The 1940’s Radio Hour — A Great Veterans Day Weekend Activity
By JIM NESMITHLos Alamos
I was genuinely disturbed and disappointed by Bonnie Gordon’s review of the Los Alamos Little Theater’s production of the 1940’s Radio Hour on November 5, 2016. I attended the same opening performance and it was a wonderful experience, enjoyed by every single person in the house with the obvious exception of Bonnie. I agree with Bonnie that she was not the ideal person to review the play and go further in saying she should have recused herself.
Yes, the characters were stereotypes but so what? Show me one play or movie in which that is not the case to at least some degree. We Read More
