SANTA FE — The Santa Fe Opera announces dramatic baritone and former Santa Fe Opera Apprentice singer Michael Chioldi will sing the title role in Rigoletto, replacing Spanish baritone Gerardo Bullón, who has withdrawn for personal reasons.

The production opens July 12 and runs for seven performances through Aug. 20. A co-production with Irish National Opera and Opera Zuid, Chioldi recently performed the role at the Irish National Opera to critical acclaim.

With that in mind, David Zimmerman will present what he calls “The Lighter Side of MS: A Comedic Take on Diminishing Capabilities” at 1 p.m. Thursday in the classroom at the Los Alamos Senior Activity Center.

Every second Saturday of the month, the White Rock Branch Library is showing a family-friendly film. This Saturday, July 12, families are invited to participate in crafts, eat popcorn and watch Mufasa: The Lion King.

Arrive at the library at 2 p.m. with the whole family to get started on a movie-themed craft. The movie runs 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the meeting room.
