Los Alamos Creative District’s Final Fourth Friday of 2015 will happen in downtown Los Alamos this Friday, Oct. 23. Fourth Friday will begin again in January 2016.
Fourth Fridays is a monthly event that offers extended hours or special programming at Bradbury Science Museum, Los Alamos Historical Society, Fuller Lodge Art Center, The Nature Center and Mesa Public Library. By CYNTHIA BIDDLECOMB“Learning to Drive” actor Ben Kingsley’s latest film, is both poignant and emotionally satisfying.
Kingsley (Gandhi) plays Darwan Singh Tur, a taxi driver and driving instructor who came to this country for political asylum. One night he picks up a man hurriedly leaving his wife at a bar. When the wife jumps in the cab, too, Darwan witnesses the end of their marriage, right there in the back seat, the accusations and anger. The husband sends her home alone in the taxi, so Darwan must experience in his rear view mirror her desolate deflation as her life falls apart. Read More

Cinema Cindy Reviews Bridge Of Spies
By CYNTHIA BIDDLECOMB“Bridge of Spies” is a triumph of a movie. Steven Spielberg and the Coen Brothers have cobbled together a little known but significant Cold War event with likeable main characters and a story of honor.
Based on actual events, the film conflates five years of tension between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. when each country had one of the other nation’s spies. What must have been five long, tedious years for these characters—whether negotiating, or waiting in prison, suffering the hatred of one’s neighbors, watching the Berlin Wall go up or learning the hard way that the
