Ghosts, goblins and other Halloween creatures of all shapes and sizes will appear at Mountain Elementary School 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.

The carnival began in the 1970’s as a safe and fun alternative to trick-or-treating. This 40 plus year-old tradition is a community event. Students, staff and parents created many of the original games and activities, and some are still in use. ‘One A Ponzi Time’ Reading At LALT Wednesday

LALT News:

Join the Los Alamos Performing Arts Center (Los Alamos Little Theatre) at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14 for a reading of the new farce “Once a Ponzi Time” by Joe Foust, which is scheduled for production in January 2016.

“Pan,” the new Disney movie creating a backstory for the beloved Peter Pan, is visually satisfying. In it, Peter (Levi Miller) is 12 years old, living in an orphanage in London under the blitz of World War II and wondering who his parents might have been.

Local opera singers Heather Bingham and Olivia Hakel would like to invite all Los Alamos Community members to participate in a community sing-a-long of G.F. Handel’s Messiah, to be performed Sunday, Dec. 13, under the direction of Tjett Gerdom.
The first choir rehearsal for this event is 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at the Los Alamos Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1967 18th St. in Los Alamos. Regular rehearsals will be held at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday through December. Orchestra rehearsals will begin in November.
