Conversations in Clay exhibits works by members of the New Mexico Potters and Clay Artists (NMPCA) who were encouraged to create visual conversations.

In some cases artists worked together integrating conversation into the process from the conception through the production. Individual entries by single artists are also included, along with one-sentence “conversation starter” descriptions.

The recently published book, “The Unbeatable Foe” is the story of Bill Hudson’s war. Hudson, a Marine and Iwo Jima survivor, is a long time resident of Los Alamos.

Author and Los Alamos native Karen Tallentire has known Hudson, her swim teacher and a fellow runner, for as long as she can remember. Like him, she has experienced Cornell engineering classes, military officer training, and Puerto Rico. Like almost everyone now alive, she has never experienced anything resembling Iwo Jima.
