By CYNTHIA BIDDLECOMB“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1” is the third installment in the Hunger Games trilogy – at least it is a trilogy in the book version. Did the third novel have enough in it to make into two movies? Surprisingly, yes it did; at 123 minutes in length, this one kept our interest and sustained its intensity.
The focus in Part 1 is on Katniss Everdeen’s struggle to trust the rebel faction and become its’ spokesperson—the Mockingjay. The bulk of the story takes place in District 13, totally underground, a district the public had been told no longer existed. Its’

Michelle Groves’ beginning photography students at Los Alamos High School will host a photography art show Dec. 1-8 in the main lobby at the high school.

Mountain Elementary School first grade student, Savanna Strother, second from left, was a winner of ‘Pop Star for the Day’ Nov. 14. Her prize included leading the pledge in the morning and the announcements as well as performing a song during lunch.
