Upstart Crows of Santa Fe and The Shakespeare Gym present an uncut production of Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy, Romeo and Juliet.

Two casts – one an age-accurate mix of adults and youth, the other a gender- blind, age- blind cast perform in the historic Scottish Rite Temple and then in the Crows own black box theater in Eldorado. Los Alamos Little Theatre (LALT) will hold auditions for its summer Shakespeare in the Park production of Julius Caesar, directed by Lindsey Gordon. Auditions are 5:30-7:30 p.m.Thursday, May 29, and 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 31, in upstairs meeting room 2/3 at Mesa Public Library.

The community is invited to learn how to get the most out of phone cameras with Rapheal Begay (Diné), 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, May 25.

Begay is an artist based in Tségháhoodzání (Window Rock, Ariz.). His work uses cultural landscape photography and creative collaboration to celebrate and preserve the Diné way of life. Visual sovereignty, Indigenous storytelling traditions, and land-based knowledge inform his research and practice.
